I seem to recall that some of the big companies were doing some sort of free learn to ski package for bigginers on certain dates in January the last few years.

We are at teh early stages of planing a group trip in January next year inlcuiding total beginners. Anyone know if these deals will be repeated in Jan 2011??

Cheers

Sued is right on it - no queues.

We are just back from Zell 4 days ago (great week, not the most snow ever, but plenty enough to enjoy ourselves) hope it stays cold and crisp for you. The queue for lift passes at City Express lift on Sunday morning 9am amounted to about 6 people and that was probably only because the 2 at the front were dithering over what to buy.

A few of us did pre-book them on this occasion and we got Super Salzburger ones for the price of the Zell/Kaprun one which covered us for the day we had in Saalbach which was a bonus. Not something I normaly do for Zell, but this time it actually was a good deal as it was something we had planned to do anyway.

Dave

P.S. If your travelling with a tour op. they usually sell them on the transfer to Zell and our guys who did got them right away - we arrived in resort about 9pm Saturday eve.
Niederau.... What's it like?

Small but beautifully formed!

Had short break there last year and met some great people, but I would find it way to limiting for a week unless I had my own transport to get to the other nearby larger areas. Even with only 4 days there we still took a day out somewhere else for some variety.

Me neither, and have no plans. J2ski is enough for me, along with a visit to facebook every 6 weeks or so.

I will be skiing, and he snowboards...

Cheers

Tony_H wrote:Oh dear. Val d'Isere and discounts just dont go. Expect to pay top dollar for almost everything out there. There are stories of £10 coffees, £25 burgers and £18 pints of lager, although I am sure its not all that silly.
I'd make sure you have a decent financial advisor though.

mmmm sounds like Courcheval ! never eat/drink at the restaurant near the altiport unless you have a full wallet or big overdraft.

It wasn't quite that bad in April, though there certainly wasn't anything I'd call cheap. A few of the bars have happy hours or similar so it's worth searching them out. I seem to remember one bars prices went up every 30 mins - so if you got in early it was pretty cheap.... if you lingered as the night wore on...

Theres a few take-away pizza places in town which were fairly good when we tried them and not to expensive.
