Drag lifts (skiers, not boarders)

you feel for parents? I feel for the poor kid. Sorry, but babies shouldn't be taken on holidays abroad. We did Pontins and Haven when ours were small and they LOVED it. Moved on to further fields as they got much older. What's in it for the baby? And what if they get sick in a foreign country miles from anywhere? They can't say what's wrong or how they feel. Sorry but it's awful and selfish. Wait till the poor mite is old enough to enjoy going abroad and can remember it five years later! If it's an older child just having a bad night, fair enough, but babies should not be taken abroad.

have a look at Bardonecchia too. may also be a little small for you also but there are 4 areas, 3 of them joined and very reasonable. Neilson and Crystal go there

We did rauris last yr. It was small yes, but suited us ok. very cheap too! I'd rather ski somewhere small than not at all lol and we have a budget. I think if you fly from Gatwick the costs are even less for some reason! try skitracer and travelzoo also :)
Who wears a helmet?

FYI I am not being derogatory towards anyone with a "brain injury", simply making a throw away jokey remark about how I have found a lot of helmet wearers to look. I accept helmets have become more styled and fashion conscious in recent times.

In fairness, while I totally got where you were coming from, I winced, as I have a friend with a brain damaged child who'd be outraged and very upset at yr comment

Tony_H wrote:Bottom line is people need to be courteous and patient, and not put anyone into a compromising position on the slopes, therefore avoiding collisions. That goes for experienced skiers right through to numpties who perhaps shouldnt actually be out there maybe. A bit more slope etiquette for starters and we wouldnt even need to be considering danger and risk.
Totally agree mate, but the problem is people AREN'T. People are rude and discourteous and only think about themselves. My holiday is always blighted by the worry my kids will be hit by inconsiderate skiers who miss them by inches or bomb down slopes they are not able to ski down. I also feel happier if they have a helmet. I acknowledge that broken legs are far more common. However, you are not likely to die from a broken leg, a head injury is far more serious. I also think you are an adult and within your right to make up your own mind about whether you wear one, as do I! My kids on the other hand, do as I say! You should not be lamblasted for not wearing one but I think anyone sensible would acknowledge that the benefits of a helmet are tebfold

Bardonecchia isn't coming up for that date but you could ring them. It says no supplement for single rooms. (They are tiny rooms, but at the EOTD who cares?)

Where are you flying from Iceman? You say Northern guy so I have priced you from Manchester
You can go to Austria for a lot less than that per person but you'd have to ring to ask them for a price for an additional separate room. It'll be cheaper still nearer the time. We got a great last min deal in Bardonecchia with neilson, keep an eye on that. But for £600 each you are spoiled for choice. We never pay more than £400 each and that includes skis and boots!
