smartski did you learn in Borovets? me too! DD and I learned there and then we taught hubby and son the next yr! We nearly went to Bansko this yr as we couldn't get a deal anywhere else, but then suddenly got the great deal in Italy. Probably do bansko next yr I think

If you are smoking outside then people should move away. The only place outdoors I don't agree wiht it is in a queue where you can't move. Eg at Alton Towers. (It IS banned in queues but they don't enforce it. If you're in the middle of an hour long queue and someone nearby is smoking, the smoke goes all over the kids. You can't move em!

I know what you mean, but it honestly never bothered me having to go outside. Like I said I ALWAYS went outside to smoke, even before it was law. I didn't smoke in my house, so didn't smoke indoors anywhere else.I'd never stand in the doorway either! I always went right up the garden or the smoke all went in the house! But I do agree that some bars could be smokers bars. In fact I have often said, the "old" system, when I was a lass lol, there was a lounge and a bar in most pubs, and you could have had the bar for smokers. However it seems to be trendy to knock em all though to one these days. I have no objection whatsover to having smokers bars. I just think anywhere where there are children staying should be non smoking

lmao What have I started!
I am not concerned about lightening hitting me. For one,it has to be forked to do harm, and secondly, when you think how many metal cars lamposts and what have you are out in every storm and rarely get hit, you know the risk is low. Far more chance of being hit by another car than lightening! Just wondered if we'd lose skiing tim. BUT the forecast has changed again now! LOL Thanks all for your replies |

but if you ski without a helmet you are only harming yourself. If you smoke indoors you are harming others. I smoked for years but I NEVER smoked indoors, even before the ban came in. EG when we used to go to haven parks, smoking was allowed and I HATED taking my kids in. It was lovely when it was banned. I dont want my kids breathing in cig smoke, sorry.I know kids dont go in bars generally, but if you stay in a hotel with a bar then the smoke will diffuse thru the hotel. A separate room is a joke. Anyone, not just a Biologist can explain the laws of diffusion

I remember the gorgeous run through the trees. There was a deep drop on one side (I was always telling the kids not to go too close to the edge, as they'd try andbomb down!! (I'm a neurotic mum!) Didn't do any blacks; I can't, and I wouldn't allow the kids too. I have said they can do some blacks this yr!! (They're SOO excited!)

Hi smartski. I am a 48 yr old pre menopausal female. My hubby rarely understand me, so I can understand how you are lost!! lmao
What I meant was, when we go self catering, we never eat out, I cook everything in the apartment. I take loads of foodstuffs with me. We always ski on a budget and we're quite happy to eat in our apartment if it means we get to go skiing! However have got a super deal this yr in Bardonecchia, half board all 4 of us, skis boots Lps £1500!!!! woop! But as I say, if my kids get to ski, they, and we don't care about eating out. We go for snow snow and more snow, skiing sledging ice skating and making snowmen!! |
