More lols!  I think we're doing Bansko next yr unless we find a great deal, so don't defer it till then, will you? Was going to refrain from posting for a while, but have to confess, I read this thread with horror. My husband was injured (Luckliy only his arm, but it meant a 40 odd yr old man needed help getting on a drag lift for the rest of the week) because of a drunken idiot charging straight down a slope when he'd literally only just learned to snow plough and knocking him over. Sorry but skiing is a very strenuous sport, and if you've never skied you'll spend your first few days wobbling snow ploughs on the nursery slopes. Mixing it with drinking is not a good idea! Why do people feel the need to go off for a week for a stag do? isn't a few beers down the local any good anymore? Then take the wife skiing after the wedding? lol Seriously, be careful. Heavy drinking and skiing don't mix! |

But would you still deem it humour if you had a brain damaged child, who could not speak, walk and was fed through a tube? Snipped - this is a family-friendly ski forum! Admin However, I do know that parents of retarded, spastic and brain damaged children get very upset when people use these terms loosely, and I can honestly empathise. |

Lots of laws aren't enforced. Do you know it is an offence to leave the engine running in ANY stationary vehicle in England, carrying a £1000 max fine? In Blackpool it is enforced, but most places, people don't know it exists. In fact I spoke to a cop about it once and he said there was no such law. I told him to look through his book. He did and looked at me very red faced after doing so!!!!!

Lol I sometimes do that, but as soon as one lot goes by, another lot always appears! I used to be telling the kids to wait and my son'd be shouting, "Oh come on Mum, we've been here aaages!"

Lol Thank you Wickers. And you can call me DD lmao. (That's not my name tho, but I shan't broadcast it here!) We've just got back on 22nd Wickers, so sadly no more skiing until next yr :(
I too am amazed at the actions of some kids, and when mine were younger I made them stay with us all the time even tho I WAS holding them back. Watching them ski now makes me so very proud. (My son is on my profile picture) They are excellent skiers and they've only had one lot of lessons! I have to give them a little more freedom now as they are twice as good as we are, and my daughter, 17 is EXTREMELY sensible. Some kids are downright dangerous and I don't know how their parents can go off and ski and not be worried to death! |

yeah, that's what bloody annoys me. Black run skiers can play on them all day, fast as they like. On a blue where some skiers will have only just learned to snow plough and there are loads of small kids, advanced skiers should have the good grace to tootle down them gently. Any inexperienced skier could suddenly go anywhere and a fast skier hitting them could be fatal for both
