How last minute can a booking be? My husband and I have the first week of Easter booked off and are hoping to ski somewhere, will prob use Crystal or the likes, not brave enough yet to do it all separately. Dates are 31 March/1st April for 1 week. I have read a bit about going high. We went to Pila at Christmas and Arinsal last Feb and enjoyed both. We are both intermediates, happy to self cater or hotel.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Skied L2A Jan 8th for a week.
Of the four single travellers I hooked up with ...
2 booked on the Tuesday (3/1).
I booked 11.00am on the Saturday (7/1) and the winner for late booking was .........

The guy who phoned Mark Warner a 3.55pm on Saturday and was waiting at the airport 12 hours later. Now that's last minute

I know a bloke who, last season, went to the travel agents at Birmingham Airport on a Saturday morning - and was on flight that very afternoon!

I've booked on a Thursday and gone that weekend.

Problem is Easter is always an expensive week, and fills up fast so fewer late deals come up.

If you're prepared to wait and be patient, something will come up. Be prepared to be flexible on where to go, see where conditions are good first.

Going somewhere with high skiing is important that time of year though.

I've skied Easter in Serre Chevalier and we woke up to a massive snowfall one morning, metre of fresh snow.

Where are the places with the best value for money lift pass, in March? Resorts such as 3V, Espace Killy etc are very expensive and can add alot on to a week's "cheap holiday"

You will always have to factor in £200 extra for a weeks lift pass wherever you go, unless someone chucks a bogof in

Just got a great late deal in Bardonecchia with neilson, got a late deal the last 2 yrs with them, 2 yrs ago was 4 days before, last yr 10 days, this yr 15 days. (Saved £60 late booking charge there!) Balkan do got late deals. Crytals late deals never seem to be very good. You can try skitracer too. Onkly thing about late deals is you take a risk of not getting one. At least if you miss out early on you have more time to get one. That late, that is not the case! Good luck!
