What's the difference between what Jon said and what TH is saying then? Or do you mean the same thing?
We had plenty of BBQs this summer. They were wet ones. |

I keep hearing rumours that the Alps are in for another bumper year for snow. Anyone else heard this?
Apparently the storms started at the end of October last year so it's not too late yet. Let's hope these 'experts' are right. |

How rude. I actually don't have an accent anymore (until I go back for a visit), that's living down south for you. |

I'm from Birmingham originally and now live with the big softies down south, don't count myself as a northerner though, I'm a midlander. Won't be able to make it anyway

Hi Kimmer, welcome to our website, you'll find lots of useful (and useless) information on here, well done you for wanting to do something you will absolutely love!
As a beginner, it's a good move to have a 'try before you buy' so to speak, although plenty of people just turn up and have a go. Some of the tour operators now do a really good deal for beginners that includes absolutely everything you need to start skiing, have a look at this link to start with and I'll see if I can find more (or someone else will add something) http://www.crystalski.co.uk/extras/learntoski.shtml Train is a good experience, although the tour operators only tend to go to France, but with a bit of digging you can make your way to anywhere in the Alps by train (there's a good article in this months Daily Mail ski and snowboard magazine about this). Hope this helps to start you off, keep asking lots of questions and we'll get you skiing in no time! :D |
