I am aware it wasn't just N that was shitty for snow.
Current forecast also looking dreadful at the moment. Ischgl reckons they are opening this weekend. Very optimistic!! Skiwelt due to open in 10 days time. Next 7 days showing sunny and up to 10 degrees with no precipitation. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I'll get the paraglider out then. |

Dave I was there plenty more than weekends. I was there for both the UK and the GERMAN school weeks for example.
It was very average pisted snow after the end of January. Sure there were a few pathetic flakes of snow of course, but the last proper dump was January 25th. I live for powder so the season was crap basically. Just 'cos you can ski on it......don't make it good. |

Hey Offshore - that WAS the last snow there!!!
25th Jan it was - I remember it well. |

I can afford to be lazy about my skiing. I'll be on the slopes probably 40+ days this year if there is snow, so no interest in actually skiing all day long :-)

I do think once the lift between Auffach and Alpbach is built next summer that it will make for a pretty good day's skiing.
http://www.bergfex.com/alpbachtal/ http://www.bergfex.com/wildschoenau/#/wildschoenau/panorama/ Apres Ski is all part the fun for me. I don't feel the desire to ski 8 hours a day every day either.....so a beer is fun as well. |
