Skys are clear at 5.30pm so it will need to get a shift on. But I was only using today as an example. The forecasts on here are always consistently wrong, at least for the Wildschönau and Skiwelt region 'cos I am here every day. The ones on Bergfex are very good, and WeatherPro also excellent.
I know it sounds like I am just moaning - but only saying you might wanna get whoever supplies your information changed as it is always incorrect and 90% of the time wildly optimistic about snow. But maybe the info is good for France or Canada. |

That is pretty accurate of the reality. https://www.j2ski.com/snow_forecast/Austria/Niederau_snow.html And that one is massively inaccurate as usual. Look at what it says for "town" |

I am at 850m in Niederau. The rain has stopped - and yes it is now cloudy higher up. Had a few minutes of sleet.
Compared to the forecasts on Bergfex or WeatherPro whoever supplies yours just adds snow randomly. Been like that for 2 years. |

"The service is provided free of charge to us and mountain weather is very difficult to forecast accurately. Maybe we can help a bit?"
I just don't get who randomly writes these forecasts. It's raining and overcast currently in the Tirol.....go look at any webcam (I am looking out the window), but the forecast on here is still talking about 15cm of snow today etc. |

Back in the real world - the forecasts are consistently hopeless.

and don't discount the trains:
https://www.wilderkaiser.info/en/service/travel-planning/arriving-by-train-wilder-kaiser.html Getting to Kufstein station is pretty easy from Munich Airport. Then a bus or taxi to Ellmau. (or to Wörgl is also a possible) |

I am in Niederau as I write now (Wildschönau) & will be skiing Kitzbühel tomorrow. Obviously Ellmau is also close as that is SkiWelt and I normally access it via Hopfgarten or Westendorf.
I think Ellmau might be better as it gives you quick access to a MUCH larger ski area. Niederau and Auffach will be mad busy that week and the skiing in Niederau is pretty crap/limited frankly. Auffach is better skiing (it now links to Alpbach) but the town is dead with limited options. Don't stay in Oberau as it has zero skiing so it's a bus EVERY day! So take Ellmau if you can get something reasonable. Also easy access from Munich. p.s. Normally by mid-Feb we should be beyond worrying about "snow making" although this season is currently off to a pretty bad start down here. |
