A quick hello as my very first post on this forum. I have been "lurking" for a few months and been rather amused to see the polarised opinions about Niederau.....or "N" as I think is now the correct, safer, term.
I write because I have just bought a small house in "N", although....err......have NEVER actually skiied there. I know SkiWelt better, and to be honest that is my real "destination" and therefore reason for purchasing in the area. But I am sure Niederau will be just fine for casual days, or for visitors and the kids etc. Fortunately I live just 2 hours drive from Niederau so should be able to use it quite a lot as a holiday home. The place needs refurbishing so I would be grateful for PM's from any locals with recommendations re plumbers etc. Upgrading the central heating is my immediate issue, although I understand that piped GAS is not available (so probably stuck with oil or maybe a sunken gas tank?). And of course next season I look forward to meeting some of the regulars that post here :-) In Winter I will be there every weekend and quite a bit during the week as well I suspect! Jonathan. |
