Have you skied le face de bellevarde before? Is it as daunting as some suggest? I've skied in St Anton, Soll and Alpe d'huez previously, does anything compare?

I haven't actually skied it (that I'm aware of), I'd rather belt down some cruisy blues/reds than have to change my trousers when I get to the bottom. I'm not a fan of icy blacks after a couple of unfortunate incidents in the past.

I'm going to Val the 3 week of Jan, that hadn't even crossed my mind. Have you tried contacting the tourist office? They will probably tell you.

I LOVE that feeling - the excitement is immense. I will jump up and down on the bed, get dressed in record time and then head for brekkie. Don't bother to shower in the morning when I'm skiing, a) there's no point and b) it takes too long.

I spent a season in Saalbach but can't remember anything about the ski schools, have you tried googling them? As you may know, Saalbach is part of the 'ski circus' (bit like this forum really) which has masses of skiing, it can be done in a day from what I remember, assuming you aren't a beginner.

If Bobbys bar is still there, try their kebabs, they're yummy, especially after a couple of beers :D
