Enough about the boots. More about the puppy!
Private lessons are definitely the way to go, but getting the right instructor could be a bit of a lottery. I certainly wouldn't put up with being shouted at. That's inexcusable and guaranteed to put you off skiing for life! I still don't like going too fast and am afraid of steep slopes, so you're not alone there. I persevere because I love the mountains and want to improve my skiing. I hope you find a way through.
Great review. Thanks.

We use two large wheelie suitcases. Put my boots in one and OH's boots in the other and pack all our clothing plus 13 y.o. daughter's clothing equally between the two cases (no boots for her as we hire them in resort). Each case weighs in at about 19kg. You can use the space inside the boots to pack small things like socks. Helmets go in our rucksacks as hand luggage.

Yessss! Love it. Looks great on my mac.
What about Les Carroz? It's also part of the Grand Massif, easy to drive to from Geneva, a nice village. I think Samoens, Les Carroz, Morillon and Flaine are all linked anyway, so plenty of mileage.
