Diary of a knee injury

Those that have had various knee injuries, what were your recovery times like? I'm three weeks in and getting bored of hobbling around and being uncomfortable at work. I've had my MRI scan and just waiting to see the consultant/surgeon in two weeks. Although the specialist told me 6-8 weeks from date of injury (without surgery) for recovery, I don't seem to be improving – am I being impatient?

From some extensive research on the internet I have come to my own conclusion regarding my injuries and as well as having a torn ligament (confirmed by knee specialist) I think I also have a meniscal tear, which may need surgery. But I'm no doctor, just twiddling my thumbs until I am told otherwise.

Has anyone else had a random PM about reading someone's profile, like a dating thing?

Mr Admin do you know about this?

A few years ago we had to cancel a holiday (medical reasons)and they paid out over £6000 without any hassle.
some friends also use them, have claimed for a ski accident, and they cant praise them enough too.

Did the premium go up like it does with car/home insurance when you claim? I'd use them again, still waiting for the repayment but been great so far.

Dgou; I'd be quite happy to do cruisy blues as long as I am still skiing too!

I've got a knee brace with metal splints but assume I need to invest in something different?

Has anyone ever used the Body Factor at snow and rock?

Funnily enough I'm in Basingstoke, although I'm NHS so will have to go with the flow I guess! Thank you though :-)

It's good to hear other knee stories, it gives me hope for recovery, I know it will, just seems a long way off right now!

And it could have been worse, I'll be back to my usual speedy self in no time, I'm a crap patient and hate moving at a glacial pace.

Thanks for all the best wishes xx
