Hi - the main points to consider when getting kids ready for a day on the slopes is to remember that kids get very cold & wet very quickly and have trouble warming themselves up once cold - best to leave snowballing to the end of the day and ensure that they are used to wearing a hat before they end up having to keep something odd on their heads...sunglasses are a must even for babies so again worth getting them used to wearing them beforehand...and for cold weather goggles are best if the child is skiing as the wind whipping up over the top of sunglasses can make eyes very red & sore...
gloves (preferably waterproof -breathable mittens for cold weather) should have elastic attached that can be threaded through a coat - nothing worse than losing one glove on the first day....we have been know to do this to some grown-ups on their third pair of gloves in a week....
also please ....a plea from the heart - don't put your lids in cotton base layers or polo necks....once these get damp with sweat they take forever to dry and just make kids cold to the core...invest in merino wool/silk or man made fleece / base layers
