 Assuming you are at home, the forecast says you will be getting it later in the weekend  Seriously, I hope not. It is not nice sitting here with constant heavy showers all day. I am at a bbq tomorrow, so I hope it improves a bit overnight. |

Hi Whibs, welcome to the forum.
I cannot comment on individual boxes, but a few things you should check. You need to mount the boxes sufficiently far back from the front so that the airflow rising from the windscreen has a chance to hit the front of the box and go over it, not hit the underside and go underneath. Is there a significant difference in the positions and heights of the two boxes? It may be worth you trying your brothers box on a test journey to see if it makes a difference on your car, if so, the fuel savings over several years may make it worth you changing. In my experience, whatever box you fit, you will see a difference in economy, so I think your brother is extremely lucky. Is there a chance he did not pay too much attention to the actual details? Finally, it may be as simple as your car. We drive each year to ski, and we go with two vehicles. Both are Nissan Navarra pickups, and both have the same gearing and engine, yet my brother gets about 15% worse economy than the other guy who drives :( We drive in tandem, and most of it is cruise control set motorway driving. Really weird, even Nissan cannot explain why. Hope that helps. |

  Wow, thanks for that. In answer to the question, yes I have been to Bulgaria. I had the misfortune to go on a trip to Borovets a few years ago. It was the worst trip I have ever been on, and had it not been for the fact we were with a group of 20 on a "Stag" week, it would have been a complete washout. The snow was appaling, and whilst I cannot blame that on the country, what I did have an issue with was that the pisteurs had basically given up and were not even trying to move snow around despite the large numbers of people there to ski. The food was generally of a poor standard, the equipment was out of the 70's both lift wise and to hire for use (no way anyone was going to ruin their own skis on the slopes we could get on). Finally, whilst the people were friendly enough, the constant issue of being accosted by salesmen every time you walked past a shop, bar or restaurant got to be a bit annoying. Two of our group were assaulted by local heavies after leaving a club late one night, and we were advised to simply forget it had happened for our safety. Personally, I doubt very much if I will ever return to Bulgaria for a holiday. Apologies for turning this thread into a bit of a Bulgaria bash. I am sure there are those who have had a great time out there and would swear the complete opposite of what I have just stated, equally I am sure there are plenty who are happy to return there, but not me. |
