Hi Moogy, the Banff area sells tickets based on a 3 out of 4 days, or 5 out of 7 days type of deal. Look under the pricing tab for full details on this site..
http://www.skibig3.com/banff-lake-louise/banff-lake-louise-shopping/banff-lake-louise-lift-tickets I do not know about just bus tickets, but there is contact info on the above site, so you may want to drop them an email. Finally, if you are going to ski up Sunshine, I would have thought there is a pretty good chance your gf would want to come up in the Gondola with you. There is a hotel at the top of the Gondola, so I am guessing they must do some sort of foot passenger ticket, again you may need to ask via email. Sorry I can't help further. Enjoy the trip :) Edit.. Doh, must type faster, I have been sniped  |

Interesting, I too have fairly big calves, along with fairly big everywhere else as well  , and I use Salomon socks which I have had for the last few years with no shrinkage whatsoever.
I also have a bunch of "proper" ski socks which I got in Marks & Spencers 4 or 5 years ago, but sadly I have not seen them in their shops since. |

Kitzbuhel 93 and dropping, but way too slowly for my liking

:( I think you are going to find that viewing the slalom is going to depend on whether the Tennis or Snooker eejits are able to finish on schedule :!: |

 Wickers, it seems we are becoming more and more alike as time passes. I too do my boots up first thing, and usually they stay like that all day long. And I start with them pretty tight too. |

Interesting. All the advice I have read says you should always fit a complete set of winter tyres. This is due to the difference in grip you would get if you had winter on the front and summer on the rear. It is very easy to cause your vehicle to spin under breaking with the above scenario. Did you buy two to replace a pair of worn ones in an existing set? A quote from KwikFit "We will not undertake any requests to fit tyres where the total number of winter or summers tyres, upon completion, would be less than 4." |

Just to add to the other replies. I too have been a virtual fan of winter tyres for use in the UK, and this year have purchased a set of wheels and tyres ready to go on once the temperature drops a bit more.
I expect them to be on from mid November to nearly Easter, and if we get any weather like last year, I will be the envy of everyone I know  I did a lot of research on the subject, and they have progressed massively in recent years. A simple google search will demonstrate the benefits of getting yourself a set of tyres for the colder months. As Admin says, you should get on the case soon as once it gets colder demand will increase massively. |

Hiya sm4sh, I was in Soldeu in early feb 2 seasons ago (feb 2010). The snow was excellent. It had fallen quite a bit prior to us going, and we had mainly blue skies for the week we were there, with another dusting towards the end of the trip.
It was not too cold, and apart from a couple of windy days which were a bit of a nuisance right up at the top of the ski area, it was a pretty good week. If you want to check out some crappy pics, here is a public link to my facebook album from the trip Facebook Soldeu 2010 |
