I would also very carefully check what EHICPlus is too. An EHIC card is totally free, and anyone who wants to charge you to get one for you is simply ripping you off. From some of the comments I have read about EHICPlus, they do not seem to offer anything on top of the EHIC base card, so is it something you can rely on?
For what it's worth, I find that the Ski Club insurance is ideal for what I need, including medical conditions. There are almost always introductory offers available each year as well, where you get a heavily discounted Ski Club membership which then allows you a discount as a club member on the insurance. Never used the club services, but got many discounts from it, which have more than paid for the membership. |

I'm thinking the apres ski may be a bit unusual compared to what most people are used to though.

1st time season! Banff or Fernie?!

Hi Wedore87.
Sorry cannot comment about the suitability of Bannf vs Fernie, but I just want to remind you that the Canadians are pretty strict about who can and cannot work out there. You will need to ensure you have all the correct paperwork sorted before travelling. It is not uncommon for the Canadians to turn people round on arrival if they think you are coming to work and don't have the correct permits. Hate to see you put straight back on a plane on arrival. Good luck. |

If it is any guide, the FIS season kicks off in Soelden (Austria) towards the end of October each year, and I'm pretty sure they have skied on the published dates for the past few seasons.

Safe journey home Brucie, hope you have already planned your return dates :)

Is that because you are a boarder? |

Guys, if it gets really bad on the main slopes, then jump on the free bus and head up the valley to the glacier at the Hintertux. About a 30 min ride, but well worth it for the better conditions, especially if it is sunny.
You are going to love Mayrhofen, it is a fantastic town, and frankly I just had a great ski holiday there even though the snow was terrible (it was between 10c and 15c every day I was out there, so very slushy very quickly). Skied in the morning, and by lunch we were in the bars. Just enjoy the week no matter what the snow does, but I hope it cools down a bit and gives you something decent. |

Please tell me that is one of your trainee guide dogs Dave! :) |
