Decision time
I guess you need to decide on whether you want to ski somewhere "close" to Boston, or take advantage of already being stateside and go for somewhere you really want to try. As already stated, Killington is only a few hours drive from Boston, and like the others who have been I can add that it is OK, but if I went back I would want to stay up by the main lodge and lifts. I was there in 1998, and we had a 2 mile drive each day into the lifts. As a result, we didn't really leave the hotel in the evening, so missed out on the town. Not sure if somewhere like Tremblant would be drivable from Boston, otherwise the internal flights in the US always used to be pretty cheap, so you could take your pi9ck from Colorado or Utah etc. Most resorts will have a website loaded with accommodation, and it is pretty straight forward to book it all online. |

 Fortunately just bags stuffed with a weeks supply of used undies and socks  Strangely for us, we had not actually bought anything. The other car had a load of ciggies, but as there was only one smoker in the group, the total balanced out below too much for the entire group, so they were allowed to keep them. |

Yes, I remember paying both ways when we were there a couple of years ago.
Should also point out that the border control were almost as officious as the Swiss, and they went through both our vehicles on the way home :( |

Whilst I agree with that statement in principal, we all know that Insurance Cos can be a real pain when looking for "get outs". I guess it would not be too difficult for them to track down any other trips you may have already done.
Is it really worth the risk? |

I think everyone here will all pretty much agree on all the reasons everyone will give.
For me, the top reasons are, I love the mountains and the mountain air. I love the exhilaration of skiing a challenging run. I also love the feeling of doing something relatively simple really well (you know the feeling, when you have just torn down a casual blue run and left a perfect trail in the cord all the way back up the slope :P ). I love the atmosphere, and being surrounded by mainly like minded people. And I love the entire "holiday feeling" which seems to surround a ski trip. |

Sorry to drag up an older thread, but my renewal quote just came through from OUL Direct, and I thought some of you may be interested in the following.
:D Seems reasonable enough to me, and at £42 for an annual multi trip policy, I can live with the 17 days limit on skiing. Simply start another policy if I go for more. |
