Yes, I remember paying both ways when we were there a couple of years ago.

Should also point out that the border control were almost as officious as the Swiss, and they went through both our vehicles on the way home :(

 Fortunately just bags stuffed with a weeks supply of used undies and socks

Strangely for us, we had not actually bought anything. The other car had a load of ciggies, but as there was only one smoker in the group, the total balanced out below too much for the entire group, so they were allowed to keep them.

If the roads are clear we'll go over the top again or try and ski there and back...I can feel another post coming on..what's the easiest ski route back to pas from soldeu.

From Soldeu you go up, ski down a bit then up again. Then down, then up, then down, then up, then down, then uuuuuup then down. You will find yourself in Pas.

To get back you go up, then down, then up, then across, then up then down. Choice here, you can ski round and down, or up then down.

You should be back in Soldeu. Simples!!

And if you are driving, the tunnel is well worth the price of a couple of beers!!
