Thanks Andy.

Typical. My first year at this resort, and it's reporting 'unusually s**te conditions' for this time of year!

Unfortunately I think this is gonna be my last year chucking money at a skiing holiday.

Questionable conditions, and there not being a hell of a lot of snow seems an all to frequent occurrence in my experience.

Global warming?

I've ONLY been skiing 10 years, and yet only on 1 short break did we find conditions too bad to ski, and that was April in BKK in the year snow was dreadful everywhere.
Choice of resort is important, and can be a gamble. You wouldn't expect Tignes to be "s***e" anytime to be fair, but I wouldn't get so despondent about things.
I've just had an amazing week away, when much of Europe was struggling with the snow, so it proves its all down to choice and a bit of luck.
Looks like Austria is getting all the snow right now, and you would have looked at Tignes vs Soll for example and assumed Tignes would be the one with the better snow this time of year.
Dont worry, I'm sure you'll make the most of it and it will all be fine.

Don't let worrying about the snow ruin your anticipation Smokey.

I've been skiing a lot longer than 10 years and only had one bad week (2007, it was the same everywhere).

It's been very cold this week, so snow should have been maintained.

Maybe in the future if you're not tied to dates you can wait and book late, where the snow is.

But I bet you'll have a great time....

1989 was a disaster in France - great start, wonderful xmas/new year snow and then ........
Next significant snowfall December.
There was nothing but a sprinkling right through Feb. and March.

I have always been lucky enough to have really good snow on skiing holidays. In 2007 I went to Canada so didn't suffer that year either.

Global warming? Well the UK doesn't seem to be warmer!

If I do decide to give it another go, this is exactly what I'll be doing...

I wouldn't be as bothered, but I've just shelled out £250 on a new pair of boots!!
