Firstly if you need snow chains I would buy them in the uk then you can be sure they are the correct size. Once you have them ,thats the easy bit you have to be able to put them on which can be very difficult, cos you get cold and frustrated and it takes practice and some skill. Dont dispare pay a little more and buy snow socks about fifty quid on the net, which are much easir to fit. hope this helps

we were out in samoens near morzine for xmas and although we have a 4x4 we did not need our chains once. the roads are cleared really regularly, the main ones and even the side roads up to our chalet were done. then even after snow it was all still passable in the area. we are also coming back for feb half term...the snow report is not so good right now!!! your other option if you are going to go regularly is to buy snow tyres and put them on in november and leave them till april. that way you are covered in uk too. good luck and have fun .
