I have to agree with Ally you never have any guarantees at anytime of the year about the weather (a bit like the weather here in the UK!). In fact at Easter this year one weekend I was skiing in -17 and the other weekend it was +24!!

Silverflora I'm really glad you kept going with the skiing and that you ended up enjoying it. No one knows better than me how hard it is in the beginning. We have had 3 years at it and are still shaky! In our first year we were politely told that perhaps private lessons might suit us better as we were holding the rest of the group back. That was embarrassing  BUT it made us more determined to improve. Some of us are just slower to pick things up. Last year my daughter had a poor instructor who demolished her confidence and nearly put her off skiing forever. So, we always have private lessons now. This year was the best ever.

Glad you did't have to pay for the skis either!

Keep us posted with your next trip.

Well done Silverflora so glad you didnt give up! I think everyone feels like it at some point when learning.. sorry to hear of your ski incident I can see how that might of happened if you are on your own and have no idea of what yr supposed to do!
Anyway no harm done and you now have a head start for the next time you go..
its all going rapidly downhill!

Just think... You went through a lot of difficulties with your first experiences and you still fell in love with skiing! Bravo! Now that you have gotten all your bad luck out of the way think of what you have to look forward to. :-)

The best part is, that it is all fun experience that you can never repeat. Remember when you first swam a width at the swimming pool ? you can never do it for the first time again. That's the fun in learning new sports as an adult, it makes us kids again.
because I'm so inclined .....
