Wow do they turn...but there not designed to glide...I know...ate a shed load of snow when i caught an edge at speed!

Great skis - worth buying.

Until you get used to the smaller radius sidecut, try to always be on edge slightly. This means you will always be turning slightly one way, or the other, but it will allow you to feel stable when going straight at any speed.

Yes did notice that I had to keep them on edge, even one of the evenings when I was skiing back to the chalet my legs were too tired so decided to take the narrow green slope down for a relaxed bit of skiing throught the trees, keeping them in a straight line was nearly impossible. These ski's love been worked, and I just love the way they turn, so will probably still buy them.

I've another weeks skiing coming soon, so anybody suggest another ski to try before I buy?

The edging thing is something that you won't always need to do, especially once you are more used to small radius skis. At the same time, when the light is bad, and the the ground uneven, it's always a secure way to ski.

You also might look at the Fischer and Elan skis of similar specs.

Hi Ultancav

I have been using Tornados for a few years now and last year got myself the TIs. Like you I have 162s and boots are Atomic Hawx 90s. The set up is perfect and I think they are fantastic - never had any trouble with rattle at speed. As has already been said you need to be forward (but not too much) over the skis and keep the pressure on. I was also skiing in -20 at St Anton the other week and although the boots did stiffen, still had no problem with flex - the Hawx seem to deal with that OK.

Stay with the Tornados..
