Hasn't the school given you a contact number (it was a school trip wasn't it?). If that was my 9 year old I'd be worried as well, especially as he hasn't phoned you yet.

My 16 year old was away for a few days last week, on her own at a sort of conference, and I phoned her every day just to make sure she was okay. I know it's ridiculous, but I do worry about her.

I'm sure your son is fine, but I think it's just a mother's nature to worry about her kids.

Let me know when you have some news about him - I'm starting to worry as well now

Aw thanks Ally - I've heard from school a couple of times to let us know that the kids are all having a great time, but Joe's not one for chatting on the phone, and the fact that he's not called means that he's fine. I hope!

But he's not got a mobile, so I've no way of contacting him now, as they've been on the road since late afternoon. Hoping that somebody will ring and let me know what's happening at some point! Particularly as ex husband is on the lash in London tonight too!!

Kate,
I'm ashamed to say that I have my daughter's friends' mobile numbers on my phone (and their mothers' numbers) so that if she forgets her phone, or the battery goes flat or whatever, I can still find out where she is and make sure she's okay.

She doesn't understand (like your son I suspect) that although she's not worried because she knows she's okay, I don't and I do worry.

Have you tried phoning the other mothers? (I know it's a bit late now, but I expect they're all worried as well).
