Shamp00,
I have had a further thought, which is that you could do a very simple test to see if it is your boots or your feet which are causing you this problem.

You could hire a pair of boots and then use the button lift to see if there is any improvement.

That is quite an investment to get ski boots on your 3 lesson but that is another thing. I had problems with my arches when ever is stop skiing, like on lifts. This was due to the fact i had a custom foot beds that were not fitted correctly. i would go back to the shop and ask them if you get any problems with them, there are plenty of other stores you can go to to get the fitted correctly.

also make sure you don't have your boots done up to tight they should be on a loose setting. it should not be to hard to press the buckle down.

I used to find the aching pain was not just on button lifts, and often when I rested them on a chairlift on the way back up. Something to do with your feet expanding and the way your boots fit I guess. Dont think it is specific to button lifts though, its your feet/boots that are the issue here.

I also agree that having your own boots is essential to developing as a skier, although not sure its so good to have them at such an early stage?

Now Tony,
Play nicely with Olly. We all agreed we didn't mind about his spelling problem. I said, as long as we know what he means, it's fine.
I think it's very important he keeps posting.

Ski boots should not be on 'loose setting'. I don't know how to explain it, someone help me out here... thumb tight? I have no idea.. bottom 2 should be a lot less tight than the 2 on your shin. Bandiiittttt...
