painting it pink with purple spots should work
Trencher
I have never experienced one of those, I guess I'm just lucky 8)
Arrived back from Austria, coming through Glasgow airport. Was looking through the curtain at baggage arrival, and saw a wee fat guy on top of a 10 foot pile of baggage, throwing the bags down on to the ground.
Unfortunately, on that trip, had taken a banjo, wrapped in ski clothing, multiple layers inside the rucsac. Arrived home, and the neck of the banjo had snapped.
Like I have said before I guess I'm just lucky but then again I don't fly from Austria or Glasgow :D , but on a more serious note, do you guys complain like hell and what sort of compensation did you get from the carrier ??
Well I don't think i would roll over and accept it not without making a fair bit of a stink, I can't believe you would just give up without a bit of a punch up

whatever you buy make sure you mark it VERY clearly and distinctively in letters 1 foot (ok I exaggerate) high so no one can mistake it in an airport scrum.......i know from experience

Agreed Wickers, though it won't stop a determined baggage handler on a wrecking mission

Wickers, our household has had a decent pair of skis written off by baggage handlers. As we did not see it happen, and did not open the ski bag and make a visual inspection before leaving the airport, we were left with a pair of written off Blizzard Thermo's (it was a long time ago)
Big Clue.......
Dusty vehicle tyre tracks imprinted on the ski bag
At the time, like most travellers, we were just happy to see the skis eventually appear in the baggage hall. How many folks would then unwrap their kit and examine it closely?
