That's most unlikely. Better skiing maybe. Neither should have an impact upon price. The price is the same across the whole area. It is a probably a technical fix.

This is doing my head in. What was 99 euros for 6 days ski hire in St Anton is now 112 Euros. The discount shows as 20%, but when you change to any particular hire shop, the discount drops to 10% ~ hence 112 Euros.

It isn't accepting the promo code ~ which should be setting the cost at about 94 Euros.

Thrice now, woe is me.

I see what you mean Dave - that doesn't look right at all so don't book anything until I've had a word!

Gosh, I wouldn't like to be in Mr Skisets shoes.

Glad we are on the same team.

Would you really have sold my family into slavery?

D'ya think we might have got enough for two season passes?

Sold on eBay already. Got £2.50 for the lot. Job done... 8)

Will update here as soon as I hear back from SkiSet; I suspect they may be rather unreasonably asleep right now.

Sorry, this must have gone under my radar before. I am not sure prices are the same across an area, and even it that was the case, St Anton and Niederau are not in the same area. The ski areas are a long way apart in more ways than one, and I dont just mean geographically.
I think you will find that "premium" resorts such as St Anton with bigger and better ski areas always come with a premium when it comes to renting equipment. I might be wrong though, but thats what I have always found in the past.
Having said that, it was possible to rent skis and boots in Mayrhofen 2 seasons ago for 50 euros for 6 days - all brand new gear as well. Not sure if that place is still doing it now though.
As for St Anton - I hope you have a great time, its a fantastic place.

There were accusations on Snowheads that a cartel was in operation in the Arlberg. J2ski is far too upmarket for such commonties. Far be it for me to repeat such appalling suggestions. However, in a free market, you might expect a 10/15% margin over parity, not a doubling. You are right about Mayrhofen prices, Niederau the same. But, we are where we are.

I will test your area theory though.

No, there is a technical issue with their site, which offers a 20% discount, until you press the name of any shop. The discount resets to 10%, and, in addition it will not accept a discount code. I can buy a pair of used skis for their current rental price.

Admin, was planning an ambush. I have tried to email them direct, but this has been rejected.
