Thanks for your advice...

We should be there on 9th March to 11th March. Staying at Auffach and driving to Niederau for lessons with the Red Ski-school for 3 days.

Just need to keep the OH's confidence up - last time we went skiing (in France) she had a bit of a scary run down the mountain (we were a bit late on the last day and they refused to let us go down the gondola so we had to ski all the way down (bit scary with only one week of skiing!).

Hi,

I returned from niederau on 14th Feb... I had a great time. I wasnt the most confident skier on the first day (only my second time) but as i wanted to progress i went into the intermediate class.

The red ski school assess you on a short run and put you into groups according to your ability on the day, this will chop and change through the week. My partner progressed quicker than I did and went into a faster group. However by the end of the week my group had caught his up and we were skiing confidently down red runs and black runs, something i thought i would never do. This is alot to do with your own confidence, but I have to say the instructors in the red ski school provided alot of that confidence.

Good luck to your OH Im sure any confidence lost on her last trip will be regained in Niederau, it worked for me and many others!! :D

great news Barnsey

Tony_H wrote:I seem to remember Caron's comments about how thrilled she was when she goet to the bottom of that run for the first time. Its certainly not the easiest I have done in my time!

it was quite a feeling, the pleasure didn't hit until a couple of hours later sitting in the bar with graham and admin!

In imparting this little gem of information to you in practise, I do recall being awarded the Right Order of the B.....d! For which I was justifiably proud.

said moment will be lodged in my memory bank forever Dave

that trip is becoming more and more pleasurable in my mind. I've been looking back at a lot of photos recently...
