I was just trying to be friendly. I instruct kids quite a lot and they dont seem to mind being called ski dudes.

I realise now this forum is a bit of a closed shop so I'll say adios.

Question - How can you avoid cliques

Answer - Stick with your friends.

I havent been to Les Gets Brucie. If I had, I would have offered some advice. I did try to make some humour out of your thread title - quite how that makes this forum a closed shop is beyond me.

What you will find with this forum is that there are a number of people who post regularly, who are always willing to offer help and advice. There are also a lot of "unseen" users who post from time to time when there is something they feel the need to discuss, and there are people like yourself who come on here and ask a specific question.
As Rose says, it looks to me as if the people who have been to Les Gets either havent seen your thread or have nothing to offer in response. Dont make that anyone elses fault please.

okay! boys - behave.

Les Gets;

I can't remember all the names but Igloo nightclub is a must for a laugh. you MUST be drunk and give the name of your chalet and pretend you are a seasonnaire to get in cheap!

Great bar on one side of the town (close to boomerang) - possibly Bar Bush, we spent most nights there. it's got fooz ball, pool table and you can hire dvd's. Big comfy sofas too.

Bar Boomernag (it has an accomodation wing too) is supposed to be good but we didn't go in.

The Irish bar was frequented by a few of us. As ws the Bear. Another pool table in there...

If you are on chalet night off - L'Optroken was really nice for lovely pizzas and stuff. it's right next to the ice rink.

To be honest - you can't go far wrong in Les Gets - it's small enough to try all the different bars and choose your favourite. Everywhere is VERY friendly, not rowdy....i'm sure you will be fine! I will miss Les Gets this Xmas!

we'll be partying it up in Morzine

have a great time.

Thanks Queen Sheba - Looking forw ard to Les Gets. Will bear your recommendations in mind and report back on my experience.

Are there local buses between Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets should late afternoon drinks interfere with ski-ing back?

PS - See we are neighbours!!!I'm an Edinburgher living in Linlithgow.
