I have done a week or two in the past on tele's and absolutely loved it. I was lured by the style and trying something different. When I first tried it was on some old skis with leather boots and found that I was falling forward a lot, which hurts by the way when you tw%t your knee on the edges of the skis. I have tried it again more recently with more modern equipment and it was much better. Unfortunately I found it was too hard on my knees and left me nearly crippled after a few days on them. I will have to stick to the fixed heals from now on.

If you want a new challenge then go for it.

Telemark looks so cool, I'd love to be able to do it. But do I want to spend my limited skiing time learning something new? I thought not, but revolutionski's comments on the speed of improvement, may make me think again.

Seeing a guy in Tignes come down the piste backwards on telemark skis at about 100mph is one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed. We all just stood a stared.
