Snowmass is number one on my wishlist for the states.
It really is amazing. The only downfall is the price. It's cheaper to spend a week in Austria then in Aspen. I was lucky and went with my ski club
Uh oh, I think I broke'd the lift

Most stunning location, Grimentz. After many visits I'm still charmed by the village, and the alpine setting surrounded by several 4000m peaks is quite special.

I am very jealous of those who have been skiing many years, and who have visited many places. I have only been to a small number of ski resorts:

Val Thorens - learned to ski here, ridiculously cold -25c, bleak, but bright sun all day and fresh snow all night. If I hadnt been learning, it could have been an epic week. Didnt really enjoy it that much though as it took me a while to get into the whole thing. The bus journey down the mountain in a blizzard and in the dark was the scariest thing I have done in my life.

Bad Kleinkircheim - only had 3 days here, most of which were spent in a bar because there was 1 slope open thanks to rubbish weather. Lovely little place however, including a petrol station that sold cake, tights, and watering cans bizarrely. The skiing was terrible; sheet ice in the morning and a running river by midday. I did however learn how to ski with a steaming hangover, on ice with a pair of Fischer racing skis which were far too quick for me.

Mayrhofen - have been here about 5 times now, and this was where I really started to enjoy myself and get to grips with the whole skiing mentality. This place now feels like my spiritual ski home, probably because of the familiarity of the place. Good times had here.

Sauze d'Oulx - had 2 trips here. One with Skidaddle when we had the mountains virtually to ourselves in 2007 and where I felt I had a massive improvement, mainly thanks to the serious mileage we put in; the other earlier this year when despite the snow being poor, we again got out and did as much as possible all day every day. I would love to see Sauze in thick snow, like Ellistine did shortly before we went.

Verbier - my last trip and most adventurous too, with off piste, moguls, etc all thrown in. Although its got a reputation for being expensive and an inconvenient ski area, I had a fantastic skiing time here and would definitely go back.

Next trip.....St Anton.

Wish list: Val Gardena, Zermatt, Serre Chevalier, Jasna, Engelberg
