Going to Pembrokeshire with the family,Lots of walking,Biking and sightseeing.Yes a beach holiday would be nice but to be honest they`re hard work when you have kids and relaxing there not.My kids are on the go all the time and would soon get bored.

Yes beach time is important, but the Mountains are great to in the Summer. We were in Switzerland, Les Collons (Thyon) at the end of April, the weather was great with warm sunny days and the odd flurry of snow on the top of the mountains at night. The area is really Heidi country, rural but amazing views and loads to do, the whole area is set up for activities in the summer as much as the winter with a very chilled out vibe. We are going back in September to get the last bit of Summer and to mountain bike on some real mountains.

We've got 3 weeks in a villa in spain. Not my first choice, we usually do something more active like a mark warner holiday, but the husband really needs to chill out after a busy couple of years.
I've got a girlie weekend in Mallorca in october and also hoping for a city break with the family at some point.
We've still got to redecorate the hall after leak damage but holidays are more important so that's where the money goes!

As ever, we will be camping in North Norfolk in a beautiful little spot overlooking the salt marshes. Our boat lives there & our cousins run a sailing school so there will be lots of "messing about in boats" (please don't roll your eyes Tony_H).
The sands are white, the beaches deserted & the seals and wildlife an absolute delight :-) Obviously, it might rain (it usually does) but just not being at work makes it a holiday!

The plan is.... there's no plan!

What was I saying about the stereotypical skier.....summer spent walking, cycling, sailing, etc etc.

:DHi Guys & Gals,
Since my first skiing holiday about 18yrs ago i think i have only spent two weeks lying on a beach some where, all my holidays are now taken in the alps winter ir summer.
My time on holiday is taken up with the usual walking, swimming, eating and drinking etc,and generally just having a relaxing meander about.I suppose its all down to personnal preference,in the tarentaise area (as across all the alps) summer temperatures can be in the 90's down at lower altitudes and still be snowy high up.I remember doing the five lakes walk above Bourg-st-maurice one august about 4 years ago and it was warm down in bourg, but up at the top of the walk it was icy cold and wet,on our return we lookd up and as the clouds parted slightly we saw it had snowed in the time it took us to drive down to town and had left a fairly substantial amount of snow....magic.
