Its not actually right on the piste, but you can walk up a short incline to the flat section and pole across to the DMC, and probably just about generate enough speed coming into town to pole back to the hotel. But thats me being picky.

The Hotel Christina in Alpe D'Huez has a couple of family rooms.
http://www.zenithholidays.co.uk/france/alpe-d-huez/hotel-christina-winter/

Two x single beds and then Bunks x1 (for 2 people).
I am assured that the bunk beds are full-size and suitable for adults!

Prices for these are ....
£390 pp for 4 sharing and
£407 pp for 3 sharing.
(Hotel HB and airport/train station transfer) - so £90 pp less than the normal twin price.
Anyone interested ????

Heres the view from a bedroom balcony looking to the right. The mountain on the right is Signal, the flat area is where you have to pole or walk, the DMC is about 100metres behind the hotel or so. You can see the little incline next to the hotel.

Just out of interest OldAndy, why are you booking the hotel via a UK TO and not directly with the company running the hotel? http://www.madamevacances.com/hotels/france/alpes-du-nord/alpe-d-huez/hotel-le-christina.html I would have thought you would be in a better position to negotiate a deal if you booked direct like AllyG did last year. Maybe you could also get lift passes included and a deal on transfers.

Good point about booking direct.
Did look at both options but we have flexibility and ease of payments with Zenith at the same price.
It is pretty hard getting a group arrangement where we can all pay the balances separately, most people want to deal with one person. So this flexibility was the clincher!

I'd forgotten that you all book separately, so your are more or less forced to do it the way you're doing it. Years ago when I went on similar group trips we just gave the organiser a cheque or even cash.
