Unless the forecasts are completely yanking our chains; today should be the last "warm" day and that scene should look rather different in 24-36 hours time. Today's rain should turn wintry by evening and bring snow down to the village by midnight or thereabouts... fingers crossed!

According to Morzines own website very little snow has fallen since the big dump on 27 Dec and half the pistes are still closed. Research is key, always.

Believe me I do research, I am off there at the end of the month. Take a look at Les gets and avoriaz web cams. And the ones at the top of the pleney.

I am only offering my opinion. Personally, go and ski in one of the biggest ski areas in Europe. You will be fine :)

Iceman sounds like you're being very subjective rather than objective towards morzine, do you have business there by any chance! !!
No, seriously the pds is a great ski destination but one of the largest ski areas is only half open currently, hardly any snow fallen on the swiss side and I'd be quite disappointed if I went on someone's recommendations just now.If the ccurrent forecast pans out might be ok if the dump comes over theweekend.

Thinking about what Jja first asked - I know where I would go!
This is an odd start to the season and many resorts are struggling to keep runs open, especially low lying places.
Unless I was locked into a holiday already paid for I would go somewhere with good snow at present rather than hope for a dump over the weekend.
Conditions seem better in the Eastern Alps of Austria and the Dolomites at the moment. The Western Alps have struggled with the unseasonably warm weather.
I have never been to Andorra and have nothing to compare staying there with snow "as is" or risking a journey to PDS in the hope that snow arrives.
But when snow is scarce go high seems best - and Morzine is low!

That's exactly as I see it old andy, it just makes sense, when the snow's a bit iffy go high. I'm skiing again on the 24 Jan and having recently come back from France, we wanted to ski Austria this time round but due to conditions have just booked valdisere to be on the safe side.
