skiing vs snowboarding

I enjoy my work !!!
So I take it you would rather be at work?
Sounds like Alpine (racing) Snowboarding, with hard boots and plate bindings. Hardly 90s. Much of the new ski technology of the last few years, like tip and tail rocker, and multi-radius sidecuts is based on developments in racing snowboards ten years ago.

Should add if I ever do my knee again will be heading straight to a board shop and then it will be awesome as I will still be in mountains vs work which is really why we all do it anyway.

I started skiing again four years ago after fifteen years of snowboarding. I can't say that I really miss much about snowboarding. Powder was great fun but you can't always guarantee that you will get any. There are quite a few things I don't miss though:
1. Drag lifts
2. Chair lifts
3. Flat runs
4. Getting a cold arse sitting on the snow
5. Skiers moaning at me :D

I totally suck at snowboarding, but I only did it for a week or so and then decided to learn to ski instead. But I know lot of people who don't suck and will take any run or steep traverse on a board.

Of course there are some awesome boarders out there but sadly becoming a real minority. I actually saw something truly awesome from a guy with stiff boots and board other day on lift. Amazing carving from a boarder and some people are really doing some amazing steeps but in general is a bit 1990's. Like having a ford escort with a big exhaust on it. There was a time and place but world moved on.

Watch out for the Sochi effect. Our slope style skiers are going to make skiing look the coolest thing on the planet.
