Shipjack - I actually got to the Eurostar ticket barrier in Paris Nord in time to catch the 08-13, but they wouldn't let me through because my ticket said 08-43 :(

However, I think if I'd been booked on the 08-13 but missed it because the sleeper was delayed, they would have let me on the 08-43. They don't seem to guarantee this, but I reckon it usually works out like that. Perhaps someone else who frequently goes on these trains knows?

Before I booked my train tickets I looked at this website and they recommend allowing 1.5 to 2 hours for getting between Paris Nord and Austerlitz:

Hmm..hit a bit of a snag in my sleeper train plans. According to the snowcarbon website, I can't get 8 days in unless I come home on the direct eurostar on the Saturday night. Not a massive problem but I thought I could do the sleeper both ways and still get 8 days in? Is this a change or is this usually the case? I'm going 24th Jan and coming back 1st Feb.

Where does it say that on the Snowcarbon website?
I've forgotten which station you're going from now, but when I looked on the raileurope.co.uk website I could see a sleeper train on Saturday 7th December, departing from Bourg St Maurice at 20-05, arriving at Paris Austerlitz at 06-31 cost £41-50.
But I couldn't find one for the following week, presumably because the tickets haven't been released yet.

One problem with combining the Eurostar and the sleeper train, is that the Eurostar tickets come on sale 4 months ahead, whereas you can't buy tickets for the French trains until 3 months ahead, and it looks as though you might have to wait even longer for the sleeper train. So to get the best price for the Eurostar tickets you have to buy them before the sleeper tickets are available. That's what I did.

Have you tried phoning Rail Europe?

Cheers Ally,

Travelling to Moutiers. The only option snowcarbon gives for coming home on 1st Feb is a couple of morning TGV trains or the evening direct eurostar. Yeah, realised the time discrepancy between booking eurostar and corail, thats whats brought it all to a head bacuse I can book eurostar from Thursday morning (yippee!). I've searched the rail europe time tables too, although I must admit I have n't phoned them..that would make sense!

You could try phoning them now - the lines might be clear at this time of day because most people probably don't know they're open until 7 p.m. I have always found them very helpful on the phone :)

Ah, panic off..it's a mistake on the Snowcarbon website, they're going to fix it by tomorrow. Cool beans..
