When I wear glasses I have a very bad habit of looking down at my skis, in constant anticipation they are going to cross.

I find when I wear my goggles I tend to keep my focus more downhill, and as a result seem to ski much better.

I have the same problem with sunglasses so I to now wear goggles but carry a pair of sunnies for pit stops.
Michelle;
Note to others.....don't put your Oakley sunnies in a rucksack and then sit back hard on the chair lift!!! . They snap nicely, right in half.

I really wouldn't wear a rucksack on lifts...carry it. Last year a young lad from Torquay GS got his caught when getting off and was hanged. Unfortunately he died. Many lift operators now insist you take them off before getting on the lifts.

Carving leaves me all on edge

I have to say I prefer sunnies unless it's snowing. Many sunglasses are simply too dark - OK in the middle of a sunny day but as the light fades they are a pain.

I wear the goggle when it's snowing because the snow somehow gets behind the glasses and it's difficult to wipe the inside whist skiing - goggles only get snow on one side but do restrict your field of view.

I wear my Oakley sunglasses in the sun but agree they do steam up at times, goggles when snowing otherwise you cant see anything! However i have a back up pair of glasses which i bought from decathlon that i use when cycling that have red and yellow lenses so good in different light conditions as i agree dark sunglasses in shady tree areas are difficult as my last trip i had a fall when i lost the piste not sure how it happened!!

I read about theat terrible accident with the rucksack . So sad. We have bought a new one that swivels to the front in one quick move so hopefully yshould be ok, unless hubby falls off chair lift onto his front as he has been known to do :lol:

Mrs h always wears a rucksack skiing, but I've noticed signs at lift stations saying "rucksacks off" but no ones interested in enforcing it. I imagine its there to protect any liability in case of an accident like the tragic one mentioned.

Im a goggle man, although as previously mentioned on a blue bird day its a nightmare dropping in to shade. I have a few different lenses for mine which i swap out in a morning based on the days forecast. Obviously the only way to cater for all events is to take all the lenses but it doesn't bother me that much.
Wishes Essex had a mountain range Im all about the CamRock
