Another reason Chamonix scores well, is the large number of transfer options. Minibus operator is the most economical with a shared seat at between 25-30 Euros each way. They do only take an hour once they get onto the Autoroute, I've done the trip.

Geneva-Chamonix is 88km and has advantage of not needing to wait at airport because of choice of transfer companies and being minimum of dual carriageway all way into resort, hence is consistently 1hr.

Les Carroz 70KM, Les Cointamines/St Gervais (January last year skiing was epic in these resorts, fantastic offpiste), Megeve (afraid I cannot recommend this resort but some seem to like) also options and have fantastic skiing when snow is good. However you remove 1300m of vertical and will not get into resort any faster.

My conclusion, many options, only one Chamonix. Consistently voted as one of best Alpine towns in world, dramatic scenery, skiing for everyone and snow sure.

Glad Ranchero liked Les Carroz last year - our transfer time is 45 mins!

Chris callow, it's OK, I found out from your link Website

Number of Passengers Total Return Fare €
1 256
2 256
3 256
4 284
5 310
6 324
7 330
8 330

For flights scheduled to arrive after 2130 and collections from the chalet before 0600 there is a surcharge of 20%

That's a whole ot of Euro's

Compare that to Chamonix, typically 25-30 Euros each way per person.

Bandit, you've quoted off our site for private transfers, the cost of a shared transfer for 4 travelling together is 240€ return, so close to your Cham figure. But thanks for looking at the site!
