A lot of incorrect info on here. If you are staying in Peisey you need to go by taxi or have the chalet arrange a transfer from the Bourg railway station. If you are lucky the train will stop earlier at Aime or even Laundry but you need to check this. They can arrange a shorter transfer from these stations. On the way home you must go to Bourg if on the Eurostar.

You can only use the funicular if you want to get to Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 or 2000 areas. Not Peisey, Vallandry or Nancoix when you arrive for your holiday with your bags.

Hope that helps.

Thanks very much for the info Snowcrazy :D

We were thinking about Les Arcs (as well as other resorts) for the J2Ski 2014 holiday, and considering areas like Peisey, Vallandry and Nancoix. Have you got a rough idea how much a taxi would cost from Bourg?

NellyPS wrote:So how easy is it to get to the funicular from the station? We'd be arriving around 6 am so I'm guessing it might not be running then. Probably going to Paisey x

Hiya,

The funicular is a short 10 minute walk from the Train Station.

AllyG, I will ask around next time I am in Bourg and post what prices I am told. I seem to remember around 50 Euros, but cannot be sure. It will depend on time of day/night.

Thanks Snowcrazy :D

50 euros would be quite cheap if shared between, say, 3 people.

If I'm on the direct Eurostar on Saturday I'd be getting there about 7 p.m. I think. But going back I might be either going for the morning train or the late evening one (for the all night direct train).

THank you for your replies. I have actually got of my lazy arse and done my own research now too. Although some of it is slightly confusing, on the P-V website there is a bus service which I can't work out, and the taxi I have worked out at about 90 euros return or there abouts.

ALi - when are you planning the 2014 trip? If its January I can't come, unless I get a new job
