I haven't skied there but I did go up and have a look. It was wierd to leave the beach in my shorts and sandals and later step out in the snow up at the resort. Brrrrr
I can see my house from here...

I know there is skiing in Greece as well. That would be a weird vacation, skiing in the morning, beach in the afternoon.
because I'm so inclined .....

Mekka, I've skied there in a previous life, and it's well worth a day trip. Dependant on snow conditions they sometimes close the road up to Troodos, so do check. The time I and 3 colleagues went, we had to push the car up the final stretch of road as it was bucketing down with snow and they shut the road just after we got through. Luckily there was a British Forces R&R centre at Troodos, and we managed to blag overnight accommodation. So ended up having 2 days skiing in the end. As you can see from the piste map already posted, skiing is limited, but a great day out nonetheless. Journey up is an adventure in itself. Many years since I did it, so if you give it a go, it'd be interesting to read your feedback.
A day without Ski's on is a day wasted.

We lived in Cyprus for a short while when I was 8 maybe 9, I recall the lifts being open occasionally but most days they were shut either through lack of snow or the road was shut.

Recall skiing in the morning and playing naked on the beach in the afternoon although it wasn't all that warm.

Thanks for all the advice. Not sure if we're going to get over this Summer. So I've promised myself a visit next Winter for definite if not. It's just squeezing it in next to a 'proper' ski trip :-S

As for ski and swim, the sea in Cyprus is far too cold for me at that time of year. Brrrrr.
