How was it filmed? If I was up there filling my sallos with brown stuff I know I would not be worrying about the film!

As rescues go, I think this was quite straightforward. I reckon the best one in recent years, was the breakdown of the KM cable car, when the passengers were put on a group set of slings underneath the helicopter and loaded out of the cable car doors. That got filmed by at least one passenger. They were at 3000m+ altitude, best to avoid looking down

Ooo, now there is a thought.

I would not mind betting that if your insurance did not cover you for heli-skiing and you were rescued by helicopter, that at least one insurance company would try to claim that it rendered your policy invalid

Why do we have such bad thoughts about our insurance companies?

Mostly Insurers exist to make money. If they pay out, then they have failed the shareholders, which I guess is why they have teams of Loss Adjusters.
Many of us have had bad experiences, so we are understandably cynical old sods.

So there :P

Another clip of this from YouTube actually taken from on the lift as the avalanche slides down.

If you wait till after the lift stops and the filmer pans round to the right, it looks like there had been another slip on the other side of the piste

With temperatures like there were last 2 weeks this is not surprising. Cracks are there since January, only waiting for weather to become warm enough and water to get to the grass under the pack.
