Uh oh. OK, I do not want to seem patronising or sexist here, but given the above comment, I should now make sure you are aware how big bills can be when using smartphones abroad and not knowing exactly what the phone is up to.
Phone companies have in recent times introduced a cap on roaming data to prevent the £0000's size bills which some people did manage to run up (admittedly they were extreme), but you need to be aware that if you sign up to a roaming deal, the cap may be lifted on your phone.
Please ensure that your daughter shows you what is going on, and ideally install a monitoring app which you know how to use so you can check on what you or your phone have been up to.
I use Onavo on my Android based phone. It is capable of stopping the phone from using data at a pre set limit. So if you buy a 30mb deal for a month, set the app to stop the phone at 29mb of use, you then have a tiny bit left for emergencies.

Your likely to pick up free wifi if your staying near the resort but if your away from the bars you will struggle unless your hotel has one, obviously
Recently in Portugal I was able to get paid Wifi for €12 for 6 days, if I was with BT it would have been free.
