Are there many mountain tops with restaurants (I can't see people taking off there skis for other reason than going inside a restaurant) that can be get to exclusively on skis or chairlifts? If the thief got there in this way he would have to leave his skis behind, non? Alternatively there will be either a gondola nearby, or a walking trail.

I suspect that my skis were taken by mistake rather than by malice.
But the result is the same, no skis.

Ah, were they your OWN skis then Tspill? I always hire and if they're then taken back to the hire shop they'll have my serial no: on. I do always sit outside with my skis by me when eating anyway

If they were taken by mistake there should be a pair of skis left at the place where they were taken. If they are rentals it's possible to find the owner.

yeah what I just said. I said earlier my hubby and another guy got theirs mixed up first day but it was sorted at the rental office as they whos the skis were my hubby had, and he had my hubby's!
