You will have to park at Le Chable which is below Verbier and from where you can take a gondola up. Parking space in Verbier itself is really limited particularly after a big public parking lot became a construction site. There is another parking but you may not be lucky enough to get space there, so Le Chable is a much better option.

Regarding skiing - you can loop red run called M25 if you prefer pistes or ski the new Mayentzet chairlift. I would say that piste skiing on Verbier side is not super exciting, it's much better on 4 Vallées side, but you may need to pay a supplement to go there.

yeh I noticed that some of the runs on the piste map in verbier are double lines, is there a reason for this

It means that the run has a snow-making.

We love Verbier too.
As for beginners runs my wife who is a BEGINNER still considers a long scenic 10 km blue run from top of Savoleyres to La Tzumas her Favourite anywhere!
