Wouldn't use them again. Tried a couple of years ago, on the way out they charged one set of baggage costs and on the way back tried different tactic for boot bags...which would've added ££££ to the cost for exactly the same weight/number of bags.
As we felt cheated our group and a group next to us dug our heels in and check-in staff quickly relented.
Ryanair got their own back later by 'borrowing' our plane for another flight that had "gone tech", left us with no plane! 11:30pm airport turned out its lights and left-us in a closed terminal (no food/drink or way out), no info except the next scheduled flight was 3 days time (which was already full!). Thankfully resolved in the end after a few hours of angry customers.
(Also baggage handlers were loading skis like javelin throwers, not directly Ryanair's fault but their staff just stood by and watched)...
All in all not very good customer satisfaction, but it's still nice to be able to tell the story to as many people as possible! He who laughs last...

Ryan air is OK if you know what you are likely to get. The problem is that they don't provide the standard of service that an air traveler would normally expect, and therefore should have that caveat in all their offers. My wife flew once with them, paying full whack for the airfare, knowing nothing of their reputation. She could for the same price have flown with two other airlines, but the Ryan flight met her schedule best. What a shock for her, and then to find out that most people on the plane had paid a fraction of what she had.
because I'm so inclined .....
