Snow (or lack of) on the 11th November is no indication of the season to come, whatsoever.

I'm very much with Admin on this. Also the snow came too early last winter, and resorts suffered from poor snowfall during peak weeks.
I recently read that Cervinia has delayed their opening by a few days, while they dig out the top lifts. Unusual weather patterns, moisture not making it over ridges. It's early days yet.

This is by no means unusual. I usually go mid dec so I watch avidly for snowfall in November every year and most years it's the same. It usually turns up last week in November and absolutely dumps it down.
I'm quite relaxed about conditions, there's still 4 weeks for it to turn up.
I'll start worrying on the 5th Dec.
Temperatures set to drop next week, first signs of winters arrival.

It's not so much the lack of snow at the moment, but the forecast says it's going to remain mild (that means no snow making for the forseeable future!) that's something of a worry.

However, I'm usually pretty lucky with snow, so I'm not in TOO much of a panic, just yet!

Too excited to panic just yet but I'm a relative newbie so may not have seen a really bad year....
