Bought Second Hand Skis - What do I need to do?

So a week or two ago, my parents picked up some second hand skis for me, some Nordica Hot Rod Eliminators to be precise. What I want to know is what I need to do to them before I take them skiing!
Clearly I'll need to adjust the length of the bindings, and I'd guess I'll be able to find instructions for this on the web. If anyone's got any good links, they would be much appreciated.
I've think I've calculated what my DIN needs to be. Do these differ for the toe and heel? If so, then how?
According to the seller, they've recently been serviced (edges sharpened and bases waxed) by Ski Bartlett, so I'm guessing there's not a whole lot to do in that area.
Anything that I'm missing?
Thanks,
Gooseh

If they are the Marker bindings on the X-shaped rail they are really easy to do. I am looking at a pair right now!
Generally the din is made the same for the toe and heel...
Not missing anything I know of

This time round, take em to a dealer to get the bindings checked over and adjusted. Watch and learn! :D

That's the right thing to do.
You should have an idea of your DIN setting though, and if it is different from what the ski techie says, you might ask them to explain.

Dave Mac wrote:Goose, what height and weight are you, and what DIN did you arrive at?
I'm 5'9", weigh 70kg and thought a DIN of 6.5 would suit. I have smaller than average feet, though I'm not entirely sure of the sole length of my boot. I would say I'm a fairly good skiier.

When you mention a dealer, do you mean a Nordica dealer, or just any ski shop? I don't think there are any Nordica dealers in the UK.

They are indeed those very bindings. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to figure out how to do it, but would like to watch an expert the first time, just to be sure. Can't wait to try these things out.
Ahh I'm so keen to get out on them! Give me snow!

I am 6 ft 2 and a bit, and weigh 90kgm. I set my DIN at 7.0, and checking with 4 or 5 different charts, 7.0 to 7.5 is where I should be for my level of skiing. (I always ignore the age bit, it's pure predjudice! )
Any good standard ski shop should be able to fit Marker bindings.
