I didn't start to ski until mid 40's and it was hard but that is probably because I was so unfit.

I started on a dry slope, just to get the feel of putting boots/skis on and some basic techniques.

The hardest part for me in those first few years was falling over and the bruises I got as a result. My hips were black and blue each time I went. Some padded protective "pants" would have been most welcome (preferably that didn't make my bum look too big). I had to settle for a hot bath and a jagermeister.

I still fall over but not so much nowadays and usually on a steeper slope. So much easier to get upright again and fewer bruises.

Everyone that wants to should try skiing. It is hard and frustrating at first but well worth the effort. It has brought a new dimension to my life and I can't wait for the season to start each year.
I can see my house from here...
