Well you do appear to have some kind of lucky streak.
Yes, cases get thrown about, but I pack my boots in my case so that it does not matter if the case gets thrown about, as one comes to expect that. Its also why I pack my ski bag out with towels, some clothing and bubble wrap....

However, I have seen boot bags come down the baggage carousel empty, with one boot missing, with bits hanging out, with broken bits falling out, etc etc.

Why run the risk????

My thoughts exactly Bandit! I've got a boot bag so was just planning on putting my purse and travel docs in the boots bag along with my boots and taking it on the plane with me. We're flying to Barcelona then have to travel to Andorra from there so it could potentially be a nightmare getting them to resort if they don't turn up on the carousel

Tony as far as my experience goes there is no risk as I have no experience of stolen/damaged equipment, what damage have you experienced ??

None thankfully, because I pack my boots in my case . But I have SEEN other peoples boot bags in a bad way.

I have had my boot bag since 1995, still in good working order it was a freebee when I brought a pair of boots in Livigno, does not show any wear or tear or baggage handlers markings, guess I'm just lucky
or is it that they do not like TO's
