Thanks for posting this! I have just got my first pair of ski boots for christmas and want to carry them on as hand luggage on an easyjet flight. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have always taken mine on easyjet fights and never had a problem with it.

I would not trust them to go in the baggage hold.

If i could i would take my skis on the plain with me.

Welcome to J2ski :D

Easyjet do accept ski boots as hand luggage. However for most skiers the problem is airport security staff and how they interpret the regulations.
This can affect you on both outward and return journeys, Grenoble having the worst reputation currently.
Suggest you email the airport and get a written response....carry it with you.

Good Luck :D

On the easy jet website it says "An additional non-refundable fee is charged per flight for the carriage of bicycles, golf equipment, skis, surfboards, wind surfers, hang gliders, and firearms. Ski boots will have to be checked in as normal hold baggage subject to hold baggage fees and cannot be carried as hand baggage due to security reasons."

I have never had a problem taking boots on as hand luggage before and will have them in my hand luggage on Thursday despite the above. I will however be prepared to quickly swap things around if necessary at check in.

What is more of a worry to me at the moment is the snow that's on it's way here and how it might affect Gatwick on Thursday!

Snowb4ndit, I was just thinking the same.
The weather FC for this week including Saturday is not good.
I am hoping that because we are going with Monarch that there will be no delays to our flight and we are flying at 2pm so hopefully they will get it all up and running should the predicted snow fall arrive.

I'm going with Easy Jet at 6.35 on Thursday morning...I'm hoping that they will be prepared as they have had plenty of warning, but I guess I am more likely to see pigs fly!

Over on snowheads one of the members is a senior cabin crew for Ezy and she says they accept them, so who knows???

The worst hurdle is the airport security I reckon, imagine the havoc you could wreak with a pair of 25.0 Salomons :D ....

Holds up boots Take me to Geneva! ....That's where we're going anyway madam..Sit down and wait for trolley with drinks to come around

I got my new boots on as hand baggage on BA last month. I did separate the shells and the liners though, just in case. Just to make them less attractive )
