It's a small cafe in arrivals, seen it but not used it, sorry....

In that case we'll hit the jazz bar and just pop down to the Hub when our taxi is due. Not that we're complete alkies of course, but it's our down time from motherhood!

And, we might need a bit of dutch courage for the skiing as we merrily went ahead and booked it without really looking at the piste map. Now people keep telling us how challenging Tignes is.......

Yes, it's starting to look pretty good! I'm going out for the last week in November, couldn't help myself! If I don't go then it will be March before I manage to get on the snow.
The new HiDef web cams look pretty good but they need to clear the snow off the lenses!!

Neiltoo,
Are you going to the Edge to Edge 'camp' as well, or out with someone else?

Hi Ally,

No, just booked a flight and hotel. I'm hoping, and its just a hope, that there will be enough snow cover to ski down to Val Claret from the Motte. I'll be happy with that.
I'm staying in the Alpaka as usual. They are very flexible with dates, you can stay any day to any day if they have space which means I can book mid week flights and save loads! The only down side with going so early is that the buses from Geneva are very limited so a hire car is necessary.

Neiltoo,
There was a very adventurous guy out with us last week at Tignes who was planning on boarding down the 'double M' (I think it's called) from the top of the funicular down to the bottom in Val Claret. Apparently it was sort of half open, in that you could ski or board it, but there was a stretch of mud you had to walk down.

So, I would think that run's bound to be fully open now, after the snow they've had.

Transfers do always seem to be the problem with DIY holidays, and even more so out of season. That's why we had to fly to Tignes, instead of going by train, because the direct train to Bourg St Maurice wasn't running yet, and although we could have got there by train, we would have had to change twice, and it would have cost us about £150 more each than flying and taking the Edge to Edge transfer from Geneva.

Have a good time,

Ally
